Electrolysis Results
I started laser treatment with Cristianos at the end of 1998 when I was deciding whether or not transition was appropriate for me (it was). I’d never wanted facial hair anyway. Since then I’ve had a few touch up sessions to deal with new hair follicles every few years or so.
Between these visits, I’d pluck the lighter hairs and the few dark ones that appeared. This earned me slapped wrists from Chris Hart but I really hated having to shave even if it was infrequent. I could go for days between plucking sessions which was great if away on holiday, especially if I was scuba diving and not wearing any make-up (it tends to wash off underwater).
Now that I’ve retired, I’ve recently returned to have needle electrolysis to eliminate the lighter hairs that laser didn’t remove.
There is no doubt that facial hair is one of the biggest issues that transwomen face in trying to avoid being misgendered. Beard cover and other make-up can only do so much but knowing that you don’t have 5 o’clock shadow and running your fingers over your face and just feel soft skin is fabulous.
I’ve always found Chris and the rest of the staff at Cristianos to be totally professional and friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending their service.
