Laser Hair Removal Altrincham
First developed in the 1990’s laser hair removal is now regarded as the most effective method of permanent hair removal. Established in 1997 Cristianos was one of the first clinics in the country to use laser. This gives Cristianos the knowledge and experience unique in the field of laser hair removal. Our evidence-based practice over this time shows laser to be safe, effective, and permanent for hair removal.
How Laser Works
Selective photothermolysis is the destruction of a target beneath the surface of the skin. The use of light whilst leaving the surrounding skin tissue intact is important. In this case the melanin (colour) in the hair shaft is used to absorb the laser light whilst it passes harmlessly through the surrounding skin tissue. Once trapped within the hair shaft the light energy is converted to heat energy, thus heating and destroying the surrounding hair follicle. This renders the follicle incapable of producing a new hair.
Benefits of Laser
There are many methods of hair removal some are temporary such as waxing, threading, tweezing and shaving. Only two methods are considered to be permanent, electrolysis and laser. Laser has many advantages over electrolysis for example: laser can deal with both small and large areas of hair growth with speed and efficiency. There is no requirement to growth the hair for treatment. Laser is non-invasive and therefore has no risk of infection. The downtime is virtually nil and make-up can be applied immediately post-treatment. The total number of treatments are far less than any other method of hair removal.
