Can it work on all colours?

No, laser hair removal is only suitable for hair containing dark pigment. We offer electrolysis as an alternative to treat hair containing little or no dark pigment.

Does laser treatment hurt?

There is a sensation to this treatment however it is best described as slightly uncomfortable rather than painful. Most people tolerate the treatment well and say the benefits are well worthwhile.

Why do I need more than one treatment?

Hair follicles go through different stages of growth and not all follicles are active at any given time. Multiple treatments are needed to ensure all of the hair follicles are destroyed.

Can we treat darker skin tones?

Yes, the VPL is perfect for treating skin containing colour for example Asian tones.

Will my skin be red after treatment?

The skin is usually slightly red for a short time after treatment usually no more than an hour or two.

Can you treat larger areas with the VPL?

Yes, the large applicator head makes it easy to treat large areas such as legs, arms and bikini line.

Will Electrolysis treat any hair and skin colour?

Yes, this method of hair removal is not dependent on the hair or skin colour.

Can large area be treated with Electrolysis?

This method treats individual hair follicles therefore it is very difficult to treat larger areas such as legs.

Do I need to grow the hair for Electrolysis?

Yes, we need at least 3 days growth in order for the electrologist to use the direction of the hair itself to guide the probe into the follicle for a safe and accurate insertion.

Will I see immediate results?

No, the treatment stimulates your skin to produce its own collagen therefore the results are best seen some weeks after treatment.

Can I have this treatment if I have had injectables and fillers?

Yes, but you must allow at least a week after having any other treatment.

Is the treatment safe?

Yes, the treatment has been clinically proven to be safe.

Can I take medications whilst having the treatment?

Many treatments for Acne can make the skin photosensitive to laser light. Therefore you must tell your clinician any medications, creams and preparations you are using on your skin.

How often will I need treatment?

This will depend on your individual circumstances. You may need to have weekly/fortnightly treatments to begin with and as the condition improves the treatment scheduling will change.

Can you treat all vein colours

We can only treat red veins. Once they have turned purple they do not respond to light-based treatment.

Does the diameter of the vein matter?

Yes, veins of differing diameters require different treatment. Only be looking at the veins can we advise you.

Does the treatment cause any marks on the skin?

The skin may be red immediately following treatment. This passes quickly, there will be no bruising or marks left by the treatment.

Does the colour of the skin matter?

We can only treat red blotches with a pale skin type. You cannot have any suntan or use a sunbed prior to treatment.
